Today marks the climax of the most-watched, most talked about United States election of our time. Along with the rest of the world, Barbados has watched with fascination as the gripping contest between Democratic candidate Senator Barack Obama and Republican candidate Senator John McCain has unfolded. Long lines formed at polling places in many Eastern states, as Barack Obama's bid to become the first black president faced the final test of its remarkable two-year journey Tuesday, while Republican John McCain pressed for an Election Day upset.
