Man Fashion: Skirt for Men

7:08 pm Contributed by JW

A kilt is a traditional garment of modern Scottish and Celtic culture typically worn by men. Kilts exist in various modern forms, and in forms inspired by the historical garment, including:
  1. The modern form of the traditional Scottish garment;
  2. The historical form of this same Scottish garment (cf. History of the kilt);
  3. Various other national forms of the kilt, such as the Northumbrian kilt, Irish kilt, Welsh kilt, Cornish kilt, and the Contemporary kilt;
  4. Certain types of school uniform skirts for girls
At modern-day Highland games gatherings in Scotland and elsewhere, the modern version of the traditional Scottish kilt is much in evidence. Historical forms of the Scottish kilt have differed in several particulars (some quite substantial) from the modern-day version. With reference to the Scottish kilt, the organizations that sanction and grade the competitions in Highland dancing and bagpiping all have rules governing acceptable attire for the competitors. These rules specify that kilts are to be worn (except that in the national dances, the female competitors will be wearing the Aboyne dress).

    Kilts;
    Kilts are a kind of skirts. This modern style are very comfortable, because the fabric is much lighter than the original-family related kilts.
    There is an American company selling utilitikilts, a very modern style of kilts with a lot of pockets, but mostly no patterns, just in one color. This kind of kilts are not pleated, but also very comfortable.

    Skirts or kilts for men

    It is okay for men to wear a skirt which could be a kilt. Both words "Skirt" and "Kilt" are knwon since the fourteenth century and was a male garment. The kilt was a knee-length pleated skirt which were used by members of Scottish families and the Scottish Army.
    There are no clear answers about the skirt, just that the skirt was used by men in different length.

    The skirt and the special skirt-style, the kilt, is a perfect garment for men's body shape and I think it is time to extent men's wardrobe with this kind of clothes.

    Of course, a skirt is unisex. Call a Scottidh kilt a 'kilt' but it is still a skirt.
    I think it is high noon for men to go with a new fashion style into future. And skirts are the best wardrobe for men ever, everybody who tried it, knows it very well.

    About the length and style? Well, I think that men have to find their way to dress properly, and they will find it, I am sure about that.
    What men need is just a public support I believe.
